MORE THAN A TRADE FAIR: A MAJOR BUSINESS FORUM
FOR IBERIAN WINE
IBERWINE, the wine exhibition of the Iberian
world
In recent years the wines from the Iberian world
have won their way to top positions on the international
scene.
The Spanish wines
are currently among the most attractive in the
world, with innovative wine producers and unquestionable
successes earning wide acclaim from the critics,
both nationally and internationally.
In Portugal wine
production is following a clear upward trend,
with regions which have reawakened to their
possibilities and are attracting considerable
attention with their innovations.
In Latin America,
Argentinean wines are soaring on the international
market, the Chilean wines continue in their
privileged positions, and we mustn’t forget
the Uruguayan and even the Brazilian wine industries
which have made an impressive leap in quality
over the last 10 years.
Given this situation,
and following the example of the wine exhibitions
Vinexpo and Vinitaly held in France and Italy,
both of them leading countries in the world
production of wine, IBERWINE
is starting up in Spain with the clear mission
of serving as a great showcase for the wines
of the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America.
We must not forget
that the combined wine production of Spain and
Portugal is now equal to – and in certain
recent years, actually higher than – the
production of France or Italy. If we include
the contribution of the Latin American countries,
total production is clearly greater.
From the 13th
to the 15th November 2007 the Parque Ferial
Juan Carlos I in Madrid (IFEMA) will be the
venue for IBERWINE, the great
wine exhibition of the Iberian world, but also
a major business centre where commercial transactions
will be centre stage.
IBERWINE
will be held on alternate years in Madrid and
in the USA, thus opening its doors to the most
valuable international markets.
